.The hypermarket, which was opened at its new location in 1995, is the most important hypermarket in Central Germany. It specializes in fresh products and the solution of logistic challenges of distributing goods of all kinds. It continues the tradition of the Central German hypermarket hall which was opened on the 6^th of February 1930. In those days it had been run as a municipal facility. In 1945 until the German reunion (1989) it was publicly owned. Nowadays, the hypermarket Leipzig is privately held.
